How Do You Know When You've Found Your Life Partner?

A friend asked me how a man knows when he’s found his life partner. He knows because there’s a tectonic shift in his psyche and his world is changed forever.

Albert Einstein taught us that everything is energy. Energy doesn’t stand still, everything vibrates. Everyone vibrates at his or her own frequency. Frequencies change, but at any moment we each vibrate and emanate a frequency. Just as one tuning fork will set another in motion, our energy fields interact with other human energy fields.

We attract like energies and seek to harmonize with them. The magic, the majesty of Love, is that as we begin to vibrate another’s tuning fork, to harmonize another to our frequency, they in turn harmonize us to theirs and another Love song is born. That Love song zygote is the Ourself. Just as two tuning forks vibrating next to one another deepen and enrich the sound emitted, the song of the Ourself is deeper and richer than either solo.

It is the realization of the greater Ourself that makes us more. We vibrate stronger because we are stronger. Weaving the other person into our fabric and being woven into theirs creates a life that is beyond what either of the two lives could be. Better, stronger, more vibrant, and more alive. Love creates us by redefining us. We’re not lost in Love, we’re enhanced by Love. We’re enhanced by Love and we enhance another; the Ourself is greater than the two of us individually.

So, how will I know when I’ve found my life partner? Because she makes me more than I am. Because I breathe her in and I breathe her out; because she fills my lungs, my heart, and my soul with passion. Because the sight of her stirs me and the thought of her moves me. I’ll know because I won’t have to be in the same room, in the same place, in the same town she is in to feel her; the frequency of our Love will touch us no matter where we are or what we are doing. I’ll know it, she’ll know it, and Ourself will know it.
